Chinatown Library

2021

This design of a potential Chinatown branch of the Boston Public Library is designed in two separate towers that are distinguished by their function that visitors can choose for their own journey.

One tower functions to look for books, the other tower for “everything else,” this includes computers, lecture halls, and distinct childrens and teen sections. With these two towers having separate entrances, visitors can decide their mission in entering the library while not having to interact with what they don’t need to. These two towers are connected by a bridge that functions as a reading area and cafe, creating an equal meeting space for all visitors of the library to gather or continue their visit to opposing sides of the library.
